Amelia Gibson

Associate Professor & Co-Director, Master of Library and Information Science

Amelia Gibson is an Associate Professor at University of Maryland at College Park. Gibson works to make communities healthier and safer by building more supportive, empowering, and inclusive information systems. Her research focuses on maternal health, education, and libraries as sociotechnical information systems.

She is currently co-director of the MLIS program and director of the Community, Equity, Data & Information lab at the University of Maryland College of Information.

Her doctoral mentees and advisees work primarily on topics related to health and clinical information/informatics, communities and place, libraries, privacy, and youth information.
